As an extraction technician, you will be doing skilled laboratory work like extracting THC, CBD and other cannabinoids. You will be using CO2 and butane solvents to create high quality products. In order to qualify for the position, you must have a science degree. A PhD is a plus. There is also a high risk of chemical injury. 

In return, you can expect a salary ranging from $75,000 to $125,000.

Cannabis Consultant

Contrary to what the job title may sound like, this does not involve advising people on the best cannabis products to use. Rather it focuses on consulting entrepreneurs on the best strategies to use when launching their cannabis businesses. 

Consultants help businesses find the best locations, obtain the licenses they need and advise them on other legal matters. This is especially useful in the cannabis industry where there are still many gray areas concerning legality. 

Cannabis consultants can make $65,000 to $150,000 annually. 

Master Grower

A grow master is in charge of all aspects of growing ensuring that each batch will be up to the highest standards. Duties may include the following.

  • Warehouse management
  • Growing tasks like cloning, feeding and trimming 
  • Scheduling gardening tasks
  • Keeping plants safe from mold, fungi and pests
  • Record management

A master grower can make anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000. 

Marijuana Edibles Chef

This job sounds like fun, but it takes a high level of skill. In addition to knowing how to cook, you should also know how to prepare marijuana so it is safe for consumption and ensure that each product contains the right levels of cannabis. 

An edibles chef typically makes $40,000 to $50,000 annually but they can make as much as $80,000 if they run their own kitchen.

They can also earn additional income by blogging and offering workshops and webinars. 

COO or CFO at a Dispensary

Dispensaries are locations that sell marijuana. A job as a COO (Chief Operating Officer) or CFO (Chief Financial Officer) could earn you as much as $125,000. 

As a financial officer, you will be handling things like budgeting, reporting and overseeing the accounting department. As a COO, you will be overseeing the operational strategies like harvesting, processing, distribution and cultivation.
